Traffic Ticket
Well, i got a ticket for driving 133 in an 80 zone last August. I missed my courtdate in September and they sent me a notice saying that my courtdate would be on January 25, 2006. I showed up on that day and they told me that they sent me a notice in the mail saying that the courtdate would be on May 17, 2006 instead, i told them i never got that letter and they said that i was lying. I received a letter 2 weeks after my courtdate saying that my courtdate was changed to May 17, 2006. I drove 2 hours to my courtdate in January just to hear that the date was changed. Is this legal or can i get off somehow on this? i have all the letters they have sent me.

You could get even though. Try not showing up on May 17.

but ive already not showed up once, back in september. I never made an excuse i just didnt go. Can i say that im sick or that somebody died?
Another question, When i go to get my insurance renewed in April will this ticket show up even though i havent been convicted yet.

You can make any excuse you want but they can also ignore any excuse you make short of you yourself dying.

That would depend on your excuse now, wouldn't it?
Why not try calling them the day after and saying that you were injured in a police chase that you lost?

Insurance Rates won't go up until conviction (innocent 'till PROVEN guilty).

"I'll NEVER plead guilty again!!"
Currently fighting THREE recently aquired tickets...
PROGRESS REPORT:
March 7, 2006 (first court appearance)
- I arrived at court 1/2 hour early and jotted down a few pointers for my motions for Continuance & Seperate Trials.
- Prosecutor met with me privately / offered deal / drop ONE Stop Sign.
- I counter-offered, BOTH stop signs "go away" (since the first citation is an "easy-win")
- "NO DEAL"!
- He stated he would object to my Seperate Trials Motion (he's no longer pleasant).
- Called in to court room: Four Cops standing there, Court Clerk, the Prosecutor (not my regular environment, lol)
- Justice enters... I promptly forget all my fancy wording!! LOL (Note to self: write down KEY words for instant recall next time)(... even forgot the word "Discovery" <dum ars>! hehe)
- 60 day Continuance was granted based on being very busy at work, AND I required at least 30 days to process two Requests under the Freedom of Information Act.
- Prosecutor was all concerned about my requests, so I said I'd forward the info to him when received.
- Then I dropped the bomb... 3 seperate trials please. Prosecuter and I bickered back and forth.. then the JP gave me the first citation "trial date", with the motion for the other two to be heard at that time (at least I get TWO trials).
- Prosecutor mumbled something irrelevant (apparently doesn't like me any more)
- I bowed, and left.
Wahoo!! First (minor) Victory
