Tickets in Quebec/How long Do tickets stay on record?

How long do the insurance companies go back for minor tickets?

Also, on the back of this ing ticket it says i can check off not guilty and attach an explanation if i want. Does that mean a judge/someone willl look at my explanation and see if he will reduce/let me off, because i don't wanna travel the 8 hrs to fight this damned thing as its only 2 points and 26.

and finally, is the quebece system the same as the ontario one for points etc, i'm assuming that insurence will obviously see it right.

[side note: driving in montreal/quebec in general sucks. one way bullshit, shitty roads and speed traps everywhere. like..how the do you go from 70kph down to 50 for like 30 feet, then back up to 70 again. honest to god, the cop pulled me over 6 feet from a 50 kph sign but about 200 meters up the road was another 70 sign..COME ON! on a in highway!. end rant]

don't quote me on this, but i heard a rumour that said that in quebec, if you plead not guilty you can get off scott free if you attend some driving class/seminar or something ...

Ontario has a recipricol agreement with Quebec so that fines, points are transfered over to here.

On a MTO printout it will read "Speeding - out of province 16-29km/hr over limit" Quebec (if that was the charge received)

I would think that you should act and pay it as soon as possible OR such as Ontario, as long as you are making installments, you are able to not have your licence suspended even with the outstanding fine, but miss a installment and here comes the suspension.

You must be making up most of what appears here under your name.

If this guy wants to contest the ticket, he has to go to Quebec to do it. "They" don't have to "come down". They will not just drop it. If the ticket isn't paid, Quebec is real diligent about going after you for it until it is. They don't just forget about it, even if it takes years.
