Ticket for lowering car?
#4
Don't quote me on this but I thought there was something int hte HTA that says the bumper must not be lower or higher than a certain limit for your class of vehicle. Ive seen lifted 4x4's ticketed for having bumper too high off the ground - got something to do with impacts/riding over another car/sliding under one/etc....

no i dont think theres any limit on being low, as long as the wheels dont rub and the springs werent cut your fine. Raising your car, yes there are laws. If there werent thered be monster trucks roaming the streets!

about 2 years ago my cousin got pulled over in downtown by cops. He has a civic that has no wheel well gap (dropped properly). Cop tells him that it's not safe blah blah. Cop showed him that he couldnt put his finger inbetween the tire and fender.... and I dont know what happened after that, but my cousin started badmouthing. So the cop ripped his plates off, and gave him a ticket for Drive unsafe vehicle. My cousin had to get it towed by a flat-bed and had to get a safety, e-test and get new plates. He fought the ticket and won because the cop never showed.
I drive around and my car's low, but I really dont think there's a law precisely against lowering springs. Just don't **** off the cop.

I've talked to a cop once in one of my classes about lowering/high cars and he said as long as the wheels dont rub (which i know has been said) and said nothing about the raising a car...i guess its all based on common sense. if ur car is too high n big then it shouldnt be one the road. and as for lowered cars do u really want ur wheels rubbing anywayz??

$110 - Car too low (Regular Cop)
$300 - Breather on the valve cover (Environmental cop)
$110 - Exhaust (Environmental cop)
$75 - Cone intale and pipe (Environmental cop)
$330 - For the strutbars that were put on the car ($110 for each one)
All thrown out because after i told the judge that its all been pur back to stock and was ready to show receipt of the job. (Good to have friends that own shops)
