Okay first off it is not me. I am a truck driver and need to keep mine clean. But a friend of mine got a 2 year suspension and a lot of fines ( $6-7k ) He said they were bogus so did not pay them, did not try to fight them either. So now he has to pay the fines and wait i believe 2 years before they will reinstate his licence. So he wants to know if it would be possible to just get an address in another province and take his test there to get say a BC or Alberta etc licence. Or are they going to see his Ont lic is suspended and want him to pay the fines anyway. He really needs his licence to work as he is a contractor and needs to drive.

Even if he is able to pull it off.........if he ever gets pulled over in ontario with his "new" BC / Alberta license im pretty sure his name would pop up on the system that he is suspended from driving in Ontario... regardless of what province his license is from.

They will ask for pervious driver's license's. When they run his name the tickets will come up under the province in which he was convicted. Your friend will have no chance in obtaining a Canadian License.

Have your friend just pay the tickets off. Around here your friend wouldnt of cared and would of been driving without a license. It seems like everyone does it around here.
