Junker Car Towed... will I get hit with fines?
Hey I had a unplated junker chassis i was taking parts off in my building's lot that was just towed. I was going to call a junker to tow the car away anyhow as I just removed most of the parts I needed. My questions are:
I called the numbers here http://www.toronto.ca/faq/parking.htm#towedvehicles and the information I got was the towing company charges "fees" that are not part of the city.
If I was to "forget about it" would these fees affect anything in the long run? (ability to renew sticker, credit etc)
I heard conflicting information about this and the city people on the phone didn't even seem to know any of the information I needed about the "fees"
So if anyone has any first hand information about this please let me know.
Thanks

They can take you to small claims for the cost of the tow and 60 days storage under the ontario storage and liens act, usually if you bring them the ownership they will just charge you the tow and they will scrap it. In toronto the tow is around 75-80 buck. Better to deal with it than get stuck paying around $2000 if they decide to take it to court.

yer building lot is private property. most likely the super called a truck that picks up cars for free and scraps them - so I'll assume there will be no charge/fee/fine to you.
if it was in your registered spot - you could allways sue back and or say it was stollen
if it was in yer registered spot - them i assume the super should have come up to talk to you
