I Need Help With My Drinking And Driving Ticket....
Hi, I got pulled over a week ago by a cop who gave me two tickets, one for my headlights which were "not working" supposedly and one for drinking and driving. i am a g2 license holder and i had .08 alcohol or something that showed on the breathealizer when i am supposed to have 0%. it was within legal limits though but still, im supposed to have 0%. im distraught. it's the first time i had a ticket. i wasn't drunk at all when i drove the car, the headlights i think were working, he was just trying to find out a reason for pulling me over or something. what should i do? should i fight it myself or use one of those agents? they costs a fortune though! help please...

this is what it read for me as the shorter title in the forum overview"I Need Help With My Drinking"
i can get you a lawyers number i know is pretty decent, but you gonna pay out your *** for the lawyer but its gonna be cheaper than your insurance.

Try redline legal services, they fight all my tickets and so far they have been pretty good and have gotten me off all of them so far. Maybe you shouldnt drink and drive. You were not under the legal limit cuz the legal limit for g2 is 0% , so you were above it. That's probably what a judge is going to say if you try that argument in court.

You CAN'T have an alcohol related offence registered against you at your age. The insurance companies will eat you alive! You HAVE to speak to a lawyer that is sufficiently confident that he can get the charge reduced to a lesser violation. You also need to postpone your court date 'till AFTER you get your G (if at all possible).
Get on the phone and call a few lawyers asking if they handle traffic offences. Be clear that your intent is to plea bargain for a non-moving violation (improper muffler). A lawyer will likely have more pull than a traffic ticket fighter like Points. If it weren't for the "alcohol" aspect of your charge, I would say fight it yourself.
I know you'll think a lawyer is too expensive, but he's nothing compared to 3 years of inflated insurance hikes.

Unfortunately for you zero is all you're allowed with a G2. However it would not be considered DUI un less you blew over .08 blood alcohol level. I would definitely lawyer up. Try a paralegal, they can represent you in court and cost much less than a regular lawyer. Please be more careful in te future. A DUI can ruin your life or somebody elses.
P.S.- When a cop says just take the ticket and fight it in court cuz you can
beat it, he usually just wants you to take the ticket without gettin over excited and causing him problems.

I'll add my voice to what's been said - get a lawyer, and don't drink and drive. It was simple luck that you didn't blow over the limit. Paralegals will cost less, but are also less effective with serious charges like this. While you haven't been charged with DUI, an alcohol related offense is still serious and will have a very large impact on your insurance if convicted.

humm... ok.... well, thanks for the advices anyway. i went to schedule a court date today so i'm just waiting now till they write me a notice where and when. then ill look for lawyers and paralegals in the yellow pages and/or referrals. ..

Nothing pisses me off more than ****ers like this getting off what for all intents and purposes, is a DUI...I'd let him get nailed and be uninsurable for years than give him one bit of advice to get it reduced/dropped and have him be on the road just to do it again, next time maybe actually causing an accident. I've done my share of stupid , but usually on empty highways and if it involves alcohol, never blowing a .08 or even close to it, that's for sure.
