Flame Suit on! Court Problems
Ok,
Step back to sept 11, 2006 at 11:24am I was pulled over for "no front plate"
I took off for half a block, becuase i was scared. I quickly pulled into a parking lot and hopped out fo the car, with hands up, as cop was pointing a handgun at me (very scarey). Put my hands on the hood. Hands pulled back and but incuffs along with my girlfreind in the passenger seat.
I was put into the back of the cruiser.
I was charged for these three things
Unautorized plate (improper reg plate, not to my car)
Driving under conditions (g1 liscence)
Operating a vehicle on a highway-no insurance
What is my best plan of action?
My best defense is this (excuse)
(Mind you, what you read below is a bent truth, not a lie but not true either, haha)
Why were you driving:
"My girlfreind has epileptic seizures i needed to rush her home to get her meds, emergency"
Why did I have the car anyways, i was at school?:
"Car was towed to school to have front brakes replaaced for saftey inspection"
Did you know that what you did is wrong? "yes, but when a life is in danger, risks need to be taken"
Also I play tennis and are going for a scholorship, should i let the crown know that too?
I hired a traffic lawyer a aqaintence is freinds with. $500 and he'll get them reduced.
I do realize that if they want to make a example out of me I am looking at about 5220 in fines
My lawyer says about $500-1500
Do you think my"excuse" is legitimate enough to give a good reson to let "boys be boys" or whatever you want to call it.
I would really like to take this as a big lesson, not waste $5000 put away fro school to pay a goddamned ticket.

if you've already hired a traffic lawyer, why bother asking anyone here for advice? i'm sure your lawyer will know much more than people on this board.
either way, you're screwed ... the first two offences are relatively minor and not of consequence, it's the "driving with no insurance" that will really rape you in terms of not only court fines/demerit points, but future insurance problems and/or insanely high rates.
sorry to say, but the story you want to use as an excuse will most likely just make matters worse, especially if you didn't tell that story to the police officer. if i were you, i'd just let your lawyer take care of things, hopefully you hired someone REAL good, or else .. like i said, you're going to be screwed.
btw, good luck
