F-Body Fall Cruise

F-Body Fall Cruise
Yoohoo??
Anybody here heard of the F-Body Fall Cruise?
http://www.fallcruise.org
It's Oct 21st this year. Starts around Rockford, heads up around Madison, WI, then winds back down towards Janesville area.
If you're from the IL/IA quad cities area, we head west and have lunch at the State Park near Lena, IL.
Reports say that because of the spring weather we had in 2006, supposed to be really vivid colors for the fall.
No fees or charges, anybody shows up in an F-Body is welcome along.
About 250 miles for the whole day, at least one trafic light, maybe no more than that (route not yet finalized).
I usually stay Friday & Sat night at the Janesville Motel6, so I'm well rested for the day.
Lots of photo ops.
The Fall one has more "open road" type curves and higher velocity twisties. (my Hawk cannot maintain 55mph on some of the curves unless in 3rd gear, and the tires are screeching a little).

The fall Cruise is a bit "shorter" because the day is shorter in October. The Spring Cruise is about 2 weeks away from the longest day of the year.

In accordance with the established Cruise Protocol, any driver can radio or hand-signal for a tailgating driver to pass him/her, and if it becomes a problem to also inform the Cruise Leaders, who are willing and able to stop the procession to deal with unsafe practices. The Leaders know where there are locations on the route which are relatively safe to do so.
You may recall where we stopped on the roadway (to wait for him) was a spot with visibility along the whole length of our group, and we knew it was there when Damon had to do a U-turn to go check on him. Even on a route packed with twisties like the Spring Cruise, we know where those opportunities are located. We like to plan in advance.
The leaders do not want unsafe driving to occur, or for 2 F-Bodies to contact each other.
And that guy gets reminded/razzed quite a bit over at his board.
