Autoslalom Oakville Ontario - June 10 2007 SET 1-3
Check the EGO at the door you autoslalom guys!!! WTF is all i have to say. I spent 2 hours there today taking pictures and videos having a good time speaking with some of the racers till two EGO maniacs had to get confrontational.
So, after getting some jamming pics of cars in the twisties i was going through the lot of cars, taking pictures of the more sporty cars (stockers mostly left out) when i came to a decent RX7 (pics enclosed) when the owner starts saying "NO PICS NO PICS". I was cool, i replied what about the video and pics i have from the track, he made a comment along the lines of "its ok then if you have those". Clearly my day was shattered that i couldn't take a pic of a car standing still... anyways, not a warm reception
I moved along to the next car, a red MR2 when that owner gets all confrontational.. "You sure do like taking pictures of a lot of cars!!!". Well yea, of course i do. I'm posting them on GTcars and they're even making their way back to the casc site. I even said that the plates can be removed (photoshop) and offered up a post card from GTcars. Regardless, he was clearly agitated and confrontational. A bit more was said in between, though i don't recall much because i was more caught off guard.
So here is my advice to racers and guys who like to take pictures. Yes, there was 4 other photographers there, i guess its ok to take pictures, just not of these 2 guys cars.
You will be required to read their minds however, but i will point them out in video and picture so you are all aware. Ive purposely watermarked their cars so everyone knows, NO PICS!
Racers. If you don't want your car photographed, don't take it out in public. Don't race it, don't modify it etc etc. There are people like myself and about 12000 other people on this forum that enjoy cars. You don't need to be rude or act like ****** to ask that your car not be photographed. Have a little tact ! Often myself, i go out of the way to REMOVE plates!
Anyways, here is the first set of 50 pictures. Enjoy!

Don't worry too much about either of the two guys that got excited about the pictures, Most people are happy but some are a little worried about shots of there plates like you mentioned they can be covered by computer later(I run with Licence plate covers from Mobil 1, number 37 Cobalt SS/SC).
The black RX7 was pretty cool being LS1 powered but this was the first time I have seen him run anywhere, this is also the first season I have seen the old guy with the red MR2 run. So thanks for taking pictures by the way, I allways enjoy seeing pics of my car more so on course or in the parking lot with the caption "sweet car". I won my class with a 45.9something

The party ruiners are captured in a couple pics, but no need to point them out. I will let others do it if they'd like.

I got a lap in with the RX7, he seemed to be a decent guy. Not sure what was up with the no pictures. Very odd.
We all run with no plates or covered plates for a reason.
The GT3 was awesome, got a run with him early in the day. As were the following:
Ariel Atom
Supercharged Elise
Caterham 7
STi
M90 Supercharged Miata
450hp LS1 RX7
Some INSANE machinery, got a ride in a few others. Awesome weekend.
I'm such a passenger .
Thanks for getting pictures of me in #90. Everyone seemed to see my 360* spin + burnout, but no pictures of it that I have found yet.

I am the owner of the black Rx-7, and it wasn't me it was my brother. I spoke with him about what happened and obviously there was a misunderstanding. I hope there are no hard feelings, I am sure we can get passed this, as we are all adults. I had zero problems with the event and i think that most of the people that met me or my brother would say we are nice people.
BTW thanks for taking those pics!

I even showed them the cards to this site and assured them i would have no plates showing. I guess it didn't please them or who knows...
Anyhow, it is what it is now. It just sucks when you do something with good intentions and people on you.
Nice car though and no hard feelings on my end

I didn't come on here to argue the point, I just wanted to let you know that it was not done to ruin your day or take away from what you were doing. Nice pics, and I would love to see a vid of my car if you have one.
