Weird Problems With My 89 Porsche 944 -- Please Help!

Hey guys,

Just joined this forum and it looks really rad.! I purchased a 89' Porsche 944 about 6 months ago and ever since i brought it to the shop to be 'tuned up' if been have tons of problems.

The biggest problem is the the motor shakes like a B*TCH once i hit 4000 rpms, yet at around 5000rpm the shaking stops. You can feel the shaking throughout the entire car and can especially feel it in the shifter and pedals.

The mechanic said he made no major changes but he DID change the timing belt and water pump. I have brought the car back to him several times and he insists that he cannot find anything wrong with it this and that... pissin the out of my cause my car is not totally F**CKED.

Can anyone give any suggestions to why the motor would be shaking so much, only at 4000rpms?

Also, if anyone can give me some contact info for a good Porsche Mechanic in the 905 area (mississauga preferably) i would be forever greatfull.

I honestly feel like for me car... i just want to give it the best and have been having nothing but problems recently.

Anyways, please help me if you can!

Thankyou,
Brad Eaton

im no car mechanic or something but i did learn that the timing belt is to be lined up properly. maybe the mechanic didnt line it up, or maybe its lined up but its not fit properly like its coming out or something. otherwise i guess its just ur engine thats doing this cuz its gettiing old. i would say instead of the tuning shop get it checked once by real porsche mechanics tho i doubt they would kno anything either. nice car tho it looks like it just came out of the factory

Nice car sounds like your wrench failed to torque your belt's properly never take you Porsche to just any general shop they don't have the tools etc. I would suggest you join a local Porsche club(Porsche Club of America) the upper Canada region you will find all the help online or at the social events also join the Rennlist .
