Porsche 944 swaps posabilities, help plz.
Will the engine from Turbo 944 bolt on to original engine mounts of 944, with out any or soem small mods to the regular 944 (not S)?
And what about the 3.0L engine from S2(211hp) or the same engine, but with some tweaks from 968 model (same 3.0 L only 240 hp)
Thanks for your input, because I might get and old 944, with aolmost certain dead engine. So basically I am getting chasis, ans I was thinking to swap some engines.

Okay, I am going to take a stab at this... I'm not tooo familiar with porche's ... but let me try anyways.
First clue is check the engine code... if codes are somewhat similar that's usually a dead giveaway that it will bolt up. But I'm thinking there will probaby have to be some minor modding to fit the turbo 944 motor. Just some adjustments in things like where the fuel filter bolts up, maybe master cylinder and such. As for rad you should have no problem. My guess is it will bolt up to the 944 mounts.
As for the 3L model. I highly doubt this will bolt up. But on the flip side... I fully believe there are some kits out there to bolt it in. Because I have heard of it being done before. I will do some research and get back to you.

Save up and get an V8 swap. You can go with a lot of V8s plus parts and the engine alone will be cheaper then porsche parts.http://www.renegadehybrids.com/944/944.html

Yes they will work but your tranny will be weaker and your gearing is off. You need the whole drivetrain package. You really want to book get the 2.5 8 valve turbo engine and get the 944 S trans. Its the same beefed up tranny but has shorter gears. any German Turbo car is geared WAY too tall.

K...my uncle races 944's and he had first gotten a regular 944, and now owns a 944s and a 944s2 and a rothmans cup editions...its pretty sweet...lol
So, I am going to recomend that you contact Bartling motor sports...
If you cant find it...i will get the contact info the next time i see or talk to my uncle..
Good luck..but yes...i asked my uncle..he said you can swap all of them between..ie...s2 will work in non s...
But apparently if ur turbo goes...you have to replace the wholething...not just the flood gate which is what breaks on those turbos...soo...good luck..
