The very first of the 2012 Honda CR-V SUVs rolled off the production line Monday at Honda Canada Manufacturing (HCM) in Alliston.
To mark the occasion, a special line-off ceremony was held at Plant 2. Four associates dressed in white coveralls did the honour of driving the shiny black SUV from the end of the line, across the floor to the welcoming stage, where they were joined by well over 100 applauding plant employees.

Now in its fourth generation, the CR-V will be the fourth vehicle on HCM's current production lineup. Its addition also makes the Alliston facility the first plant in North America to produce four distinct models, in addition to the Civic, MDX and ZDX.

"Being able to produce a range of models on the same line demonstrates the manufacturing flexibility of Honda's plants," said HCM president Nobuyuki Sanui.
