what is a dirtbikes power band, and how does it work.?

on atwo stroke dirt bike like a kx cr rm or yz itsa an actual valve in the cylinder of the bike. when the carb is opened to a certain point it opens the valve forcing more air and fuel into the motor giving it a big surge in power, the term powerband is also used when talking about a motors power. the motor may run better at a certain RPM range like say for example a certain motor has the most power between 1200 to 1600 RPM this is sometimes called its powerband

It isn't a thing, it is a range of RPM's (a band) that the motor makes good power. In dork speak if you have a KX125 that has been ported the snot out of, it won't make good power till say 9,000 RPM but it won't sign off till 13,000 RPM. So the "power band is 9,000 RPM to 13,000 RPM.
