Vstrom? I am a member of our local hog group, i own 2 harleys, but i would also like to use my suzuki Vstrom, scince i want to take videos of the rides , and want to keep the vibration down to a minimum.Personly i dont see the problem, but how do you think other hog members would veiw it, we somtimes have other makes , that look like harleys, but this would be the 1st time somone would want to use a bike that looks like a big ugly sport bike. The Vstrom is a fugly bike .

If you weren't a member already, or they didn't know you, I would recommend against it. You are already a member, and you own your own harleys, so what should they care what you ride. If anyone gets too excited about it, you can remind them how insecure they must be of themselves and their bikes. If they still give you a hard time, then why are you bothering to ride with them in the first place?

Tell them that you are carrying the extra tools needed to fix their Harleys roadside. If they are still smiling after that crack, you should be safe to continue the ride.
Seriously though, riding should be about the thrill of the sport, not the name tag on your bike. If you are stressed out about riding what you purchased, insured, and maintain as a favoured bike, find someone new to ride with. I own a Suzuki V-4 muscle bike, and often go on rides with mixed company, and it is generally agreed that if the Harley guys are being elitist snobs or jerks, then the rest of the group just goes faster and leaves them to catch up...or not. Try being the only guy riding a rice burner in a bunch of Ducati riders.....twice the bad additude towards you until they get left in the dust on every straight patch. Then compare insurance rates and watch who becomes uncomfortable.......
Ride it like you stole it!
