MV Agusta F4100R Wins Italian Superstock Championship

MV Agusta gets back to the Italian podium after 33 years. The author of the wonderful performance is Luca Scassa, protagonist since the very beginning of this racing season, who showed his incredible skills and the great value of his MV.

On the Saturday practice session, Luca placed his F4 1000R on the pole position thanks to a gap of 1.11 sec. on his closest rival, Claudio Corti.

On Sunday, the 23 years old rider led the race at the third lap creating a huge distance from his MV and Corti. Only at the final lap Corti got closer to Scassa who didn’t want to run into any risk an preferred to avoid the battle.

With a second place conquered in Imola, Scassa took the Italian branded bike on the highest step of the Italian podium, a mission that Giacomo Agostini accomplished back in 1973 when he got the Italian Title in the 500 class.

Scassa declared at the end of the race: "I’m still astonished by the victory, I was very excited and nervous about the race and I was focused on avoiding any mistake. In the last laps I decided to let Claudio go and don’t engage any battle with him because I wanted the title and didn’t want to get in any trouble. Next Sunday will be a totally different challenge and I’ll have to race at my best. I want to try to win also the World Title!"

Next Sunday, Luca will take part to the penultimate STK World Championship’s round still on the Imola circuit. Scassa is on second position in the provisional classification with only 19 points from the leader.
