minimum height on bikes?

Hey all,

Considering buying a bike instead of a car when summer rolls around. Only problem is I'm kinda short (5'5"), so was wondering if I can still ride comfortably on like a R6 or something similar (full sized sport bike). I'm nearing 19 so I don't think I'll be growing any more =/. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

i ride a yzf600r and i'm not very tall 5'7, i can't stand flat foot, i'm on my toes,
makes it harder to back the bike up but you get used to it. lot of companies offer lowering kits for bikes also

Im only 5'7" and had no problems with my gsxr-750. The height isnt a big deal once you get used to handling the bike. That said, you'll probably drop it at least once Also, be forewarned that lowering kits will result in a slower reacting steering due to the change in steering geometry (lowering is good for drag racing tho). For slaying those offramps, raising the tail end through height adjusters often results in more responsive turnin. I rode my friend's cbr 600 with a lowering kit and HATED IT.

Depends on the bike and how much its lowered.

Im 5'6" and i have a gs500F seat height of 31.1".

my feet just barely sit flat on the ground and yes its sorta hard to reverse the bike.

I plan on lowering my like 1.5 inches in the spring. certain bikes like mentioned above can affect the bikes handling. but 1.5" on my gs wont make a difference.

the only shitty part is that i cant use the centerstand anymore, and im guessing the kick stand will have tobe modified to accomany the height change so the bike doesnt fall over.

also, if this is your 1st bike ur insurance is going tobe rediculously high on a super sport. you might want to start off with sv650, ninja or gs 500, fz6 etc...
