Talon converting into eclipse?
i have 96 Eagle talon and i want to convert that to eclipse..especially 97 - 99 front bumper..would the bumper fit perfectly? is there any other modifications has to be done? how hard is it?

You will need new headlights for that conversion, 95-96 headlamps wont fit. Unless the bumper is a cheap replica, no modification should be required. As for the back end, its a simple taillight/rear bumper bolt on. Its worth noting that the 95-96 Eclipse rear bumper is different from the 97-99.

It's not hard. Done all the time.

The rear bumper is a bit more involved then just a simple bolt on. You have to rewire the tail lights, lengthen the wires for the reverse lights and relocate the mounting brackets for the rear bumper
I am in the process of doing this mod myself give you more info on this if you like

Front bumper- 180
Head Lights - 150
Marker Lights - 15
Rear Bumper w/reverse light - 250
Taillights - 200
High rise spoiler - 250
Paint bumper and roof 1000
So I would say about 2000 total for the average conversion.
Edit: Side Skirts can also cost as much as 450

Headlights $120-150
Markers - Free-$30
Rear Bumper w/ lights $200 (assuming you can find one.. Ford F150 owners are known for stealing our rear bumpers to use as front bumpers on their pickups.. I know eh..)
Tails $100
Spoiler - go spoilerless, you won't regret it.. $200-$250
Paint - Thats up to you.. I got my whole kit/trunk lid painted for $480

I was just posting what the average price is for the conversion. I paid about what you have down there and in some cases less. (150 for rear with reverse lights and 75 for tinted tails.)
Your right, the deals are out there if your willing to put the time in to looking and get lucky. I didn't want tell people that the conversion cost 1000 just to have them spend double that.

shoot man I can't for the life of me find the thread that I saw the pics in.. it was either on DSMtalk or DSMtuners. I remember the horror though, although it actually looked like it fit proper. The back-up lights make great spots for foglights apparently.
Here's all I found so far, which is brutal enough.. If I track down the thread I'll post the pics

The reason I am doing my convertion is because I will be puting in a pretty big FMIC you can shave the front to make the opening alot bigger with the 2gb eclipse bumper and it not look like it was all hacked up. I am also not a fan of the half breed look and rather have something complete.

lol get ready to get pulled over!!! there isnt even a rebar in that bumper and it is just screaming "I WONT PASS SAFETY, TAKE ME AWAY" you gotta have it in there, my roomate has a 93 talon TSI AWD and he still has his on but its modified so it fits rite over it, and my other buddy did the sam and cut the bumper cover to open up for the intercooler.
please tell me your car is awd?

If your refering to the picture of the Talon (first picture) then yes I totaly agree that doing that mod to your bumper is not smart. This is the reason why I want eclipse bumper(second picture). 90% or more would think that the eclipse comes like that from the factory. For the longest time I didn't know why they made the bumper with that black piece of plastic in there untill I bought my bumper. Looking at the picture below even after you cut out that black plastic peice covering some of the inter cooler, I dont see how anyone could tell that there is no rebar in there given the amount of space there is between the head lights and the opening.
Of course my car is AWD however I have seen this done to the FWD GS-T too. Any car with a turbo would benefit from this mod
