How can a Hyundai dealer in some areas of the country sell far below
those in other areas.

Example - 2009 GLS Sonata 4 cy automatic for $14,490. $5880 under
MSRP.

Go to www.autobrag.com and then click on search prices for examples.

There are no dealers within 100 miles of my home that will come near
these prices.

If the distance were not too great I would buy out-of-state for these
prices.

Are they including any special Hyundai rebates in that price? I think
Hyundai is offering $2,000 back for a cash purchase, or special Hyundai
financing, but not both.

Quite obviously a discount does comes into play in that example. I
would believe that a substantial dealer discount is being offered in
addition to the $2000 dealer discount. I would also believe that the
total discount offered does not come with Hyundai financing. The
buyer would either arrange their own financing or pay cash. But the
discount is far more than just the standard $2000 that dealers in my
area are offering.

I have been watching carefully the ads of all the Hyundai dealers in
my area, about 7 or eight dealers in a 60 miles radius.

No a single one of them are coming close the lower price I saw by
bringing up the autobrag site.

But has anyone actually bought a car at those prices? I see ads all the
time that are low ***** and people never seem to get them.

I had a friend who got a car from Fitzmall for the web price and my son
took an internet price he got from an online dealer to a local dealer
and they matched that price. (Since they didn't have his desired color
they ended up having to get one from another dealer and it had
bluetooth, paint and interior protection that they threw in for free)

I don't know about regional differences but dealers should be willing to
match or come close.

One must read the small print in the newspaper ads very closely.

A dealer ran an ad that looked to me as an incredible bargain.
I visited the dealership to talk to them about it.
The first thing they did was bring out the stupid "four square work
sheet".

We talked price for a little while and then he went off to talk to the
sales manager and came back with the 4 square work sheet filled out
with the final price in the lower right corner. Of, course, using
that sheet there is no visibility of how they arrived at that figure
so I brought out a blank sheet of paper and my hand calculator and
told him we would see how he came up with that price as it was far
from the advertised price and my estimated additional cost of the
Title, Tax, license and doc fee.

What finally came to light was the small print in the ad. Something
along the line of "all dealer installed items will be charged at full
price" Then the revelation that they were adding in the overpriced
alarm system, the upholstery protective coat, etc, etc. I got no
where when I told him to remove the dealer installed items that were
killing the deal.

I told them that if they were not willing to sell the car to me at the
price printed in LARGE numbers in the newspaper ad I was walking. I
walked.

Also one must take close notice of the rebates being offered in the
displayed ad. If it includes a military rebate and a recent college
grad ad that one is not eligible ad be prepared to adjust the
advertised price. Same goes for the brand loyalty rebate.

From what I have seen and read of the cars Advertised at
www.fitzmall.com the cars can be bought at the prices shown.
Unfortunately, that dealer is too far from my location.

they really? If they are high enough think about a road trip (plane)
