"!UPDATE!" Took the Sonata plunge
Had my '04 Sonata GLS 2 weeks -- 1200 miles already!
After looking the car over stem to stern, found only one small defect---a
blemish in the paint (under the clearcoat) on the trunk. Other than than
that, not one other fit or finish problem.
Mechanically, the only thing that I have found is that the fuel gauge
sometimes doesn't seem to want to go to "fully" full. It seems to
(sometimes) stop one hair shy of reading completely full. On a couple of
other fill-ups, it went to completely full. It has nothing to do with the
gas pump clicking off prematurely; I checked this by completely topping it
off until gas overflowed out of the tank. (Please, no squawks from the
environmentalists here).
Seems I read here that a couple of folks have had trouble with their gauges
or fuel sending units---checked HMA tech site and could not find a TSB---
Thanks for any comments--
By the way, gas mileage has ranged from a low of 18 mpg city to 28 mpg
highway, avg. about 22 mpg.
