Towing performance for Santa Fe
Looking to tow a 15-17 foot hybrid camper weighing 3 to 5,000 pounds. I
know at least going up hill it will be slow but wondered if anyone has had
experience towing this capacity. What is the Santa Fe's performance like?
I know according to the factory specs it can tow this weight but we all know
the specs don't always mean anything. I also want to make sure that I don't
have to do anything after market to help the Sante Fe handle towing for
extended distances.

Re: Towing performance for Santa Fe
With the 3.5 Hyundai says 3500 is max towing capacity. I'd use 80% of that
number as the max for any type of long term towing. We're looking at an 04
LX and I'm questioning whether it will tow 2 snowmobiles and a trailer
(maybe 1500 pounds) with 2-4 people and their gear in the vehicle. I'll bet
if you ask Hyundai, they'll tell you don't do it.
