Re: Timing belt replacement
I'm not sure the cost of the package where you live, but expect to pay anywhere from 400-600 dollars. On Honda's the interval is about 90,000 miles
and that is about the time the water pump should be changed as well. Now since you have to change it at around 60,000 (I assume since you didn't
mention how many miles are on it) I would personally get it changed as if you wait and the pump starts leaking at around 90k and you won't be able to
make it until 120k, you'll have to pay the same amount of labor again at 90k as you are paying now. Food for thought.

Re: Timing belt replacement...Fuel Filter.
on my 1998 Elantra.
96,600 km was when it was changed.
I checked 4-5 different places. All gave me different quotes. Lowest 2.5
hours labour, highest 5.0 hrs.
The local Ford dealership did mine for 2.5 hours.
It was 2.5 hours because they said the closest Hyundai Dealership quoted
that to them. They are 140km away.
Very inconvenient, so that's why I like the ford dealership. They know me
there.
I bought the belt myself. The belt was 56.00 Canadian.
BTW, I had the fuel filter changed at the same.
That little sucker was $33.00!! (just for the filter!!)
Isn't that expensive??
