Santa Fe (02) Electrical Problem?
Hi there, I have an 02 Santa Fe FWD and have recently had weirdness with my
radio.
I leave my lights on all the time normally, but last week while idling at a
light I noticed the radio cut out. Then I noticed that when I pressed the
gas to inch forward the radio kicked back on. It would also kick back on if
I turned off the lights.
I am guessing that I am having a lame electrical problem or something is
wonky with my alternator and the battery voltage is dropping below what the
radio needs to run (something I find hard to believe).
Anyone else have this problem? Even while I am driving I have noticed the
radio power cut off and back on right away.
FWIW, the radio does not come back on if I take other loads off the battery,
like AC, fans, etc.
What do you think? Trip to the shop?

Check out the SantaFE forums, if I recall correctly there was an issue with
alternators in the 01-02s.

Re: Santa Fe (02) Electrical Problem?
I had a similar situation with my 99 Elantra; the radio lost its presets.
Tracked it to a loose battery terminal connection. Good luck.
