i have a 2002 santafe and i also have a stale odor when running the ac.
it's like dried milk. it's not rotten, but it's milky. really weird and
makes a me a little freaked out. i have no idea what to do about it. maybe
someone has a suggestion?

Well, the cabin air filter needs changing occasionally; if you haven't
done that you might give it a try... I'm pretty sure the Santa Fe has
one and the Tiburon probably does too (the lowly Elantra has a place
for one but it's not installed).

Well, the cabin air filter needs changing occasionally; if you haven't
done that you might give it a try... I'm pretty sure the Santa Fe has
one and the Tiburon probably does too (the lowly Elantra has a place
for one but it's not installed).

I *think* the first thing to try would be to change the cabin air
filter. This is supposed to be done every 15,000 miles IIRC. I heard
that cabin air-filter replacement helped some people who had similar
complaints, but I can't remember if it was on this NG or on the web
forums at newtiburon.com.
I went to http://hmaservice.com/webtech/default.asp yesterday and tried
to find the procedure for changing the cabin air filter on a 2000
Tiburon, but couldn't find anything. Plenty of stuff about the AC
system, but no mention of an air filter for the cabin. *shrug*
