when was the fuel filter changed?
a clogged or even partially clogged fuel filter can lead to that type
of fuel pump dying due to the extra work trying to keep the fuel
pressure up.
it's a two edged sword trying to save a bit of money by deferring the
scheduled fuel filter change.
