Pissed off
Bought my 2003 Sonata gl last August. Brought my credit scores in and shwed
them to the finance dept. They told me that they do not really use them to
qualify for 0% financing. I argued with him to run it through Hyundai
Finance Corp which he said he did and I did not qualify. My fico scores were
1)730 2)744 3)752 from all 3 credit agencies. He told me the best rate I
could get was 5.9% for 60 months. I figured he was being honest so I did the
paper work. I just recieved my new credit report and it shows that the
dealer NEVER ran a credit check threw Hyundai Finance Corp at all. Why did
he do this? Is it too late to complain?

Let's see now... A salesman sees a 'mark' walk in the door and
spins a tale. The ( ex-turnip truck ) mark buys the whole shebang
and now wants to know why he's paying more interest than 92% of
recent buyers, with good credit. The answer is: dealership gets
more money.
Is it too late to complain? No. Will it do any good? Won't lower
your payments...

I am currently paying 13.5 % interest to my dealer for my 2001 Accent GL
with 36,000 miles because I did not have any car buying history although
I have good credit history in other things. Your 5.9 % is nothing
compared to this. I'll be more than happy if I get your rate.

Car buying history has nothing to do with your interest rate. You both were
duped. No flame intended there.
The finance company should have your credit history, along with your income
to debt ratio. Both of you should have walked out of the dealership. If I
were you all, then I would refinance. It would be preferable to refinance a
t a credit union since they traditionally give the best rates.
Would I complain? Yes, and vociferously. 13.5% is Usary in my opinion
unless you have bad credit.>

I used to sell Chevys. Once sold a 1990 Cavalier for $17000 because the dope
customer didn't object. Next day sold a 1990 Berretta at invoice because the
customer said he would walk otherwise.
It's that simple folks.
I was not your friend.

Why don't you get a lower rate loan elsewhere and pay off the high rate
loan?

It sounds like you got screwed by an unscrupulous dealer. By all means
complain to Hyundai.

Refinance is the answer. I just financed my POS Saturn L200 with
eloan.com and it was extremely painless plus I lowered my
interest rate a couple percent.

You mean there are places in the world where they're not cheaters? I thought
it was a universal trait!

It is, but in many places around the world most people live their entire
life without ever dealing with one. Not that they don't want to...just
can't afford.
