Own 2004 XG350L, renting Amanti
Was involved in an accident recently requiring $2000 in repairs to my
car. While in the shop, I rented a 2005 Kia Amanti. I was under the
impression they were eqivalent car, but I find the Amanti more
luxurious. It rides nicer, has more bells and whistles, the
airconditioner is more diffused rather than my XG blowing cold air on
anyone is the front seat, and the stereo, with the same Infinity
speakers as my XG, has a superior sound compared to my car, the seats
are far my comfortable, supports the back very nicely. Does anyone
know what the reliability stats are on the Amanti? Very comfortable
car. Without knowing what its reliability has been, if making the
choice over, I would chose the Amanti.
On another note, I've never been happy with my stereo. Flat sound, and
too complicated and expensive to replace stereo. Has any XG350 owners
been able to swap out their stereo's with the newer Hyundai stereo's,
from any model Hyundai, that has a better sound?
Why the Azero? Is it replacing the XG350? If yes, why?

theye built of of the same platform, but doesnt mean the 'cars' them self
are the same.
have you tried adjust your eq on your stereo, or installing some quality
aftermarket speakers?

Re: Own 2004 XG350L, renting Amanti
I'd expect Amanti reliability to be pretty much similar to XG. Powertrains
are the same.
The Azera is replacing the XG. It's a worldwide name change. I'm
figuring Hyundai for some reason is seeking a new model identity. But I
really have little idea why.

I have a 2002 Xg350. The stereo in it is pretty good for my old ears. the
Fm is just so so. The AM is the lousiest in any car that I have ever owned.
Five miles away from a 10,000 watt station and it is nothing but hash. I've
had 9volt transistor radios in 1950s cars that came with no radio from the
factory at all and that you hung from the rear view mirror on the inside
of the car that had a lot better reception. (before FM) Hyundai dealer's
answer, "well you know, nobody listens to that crap anymore anyway." to
"You need an outside antenna"Just put in a Cd and enjoy that instead. That.
to me is a hell of an answer to a piece of junk that should have never been
installed in a car for sale to the public.
Does anyone know of an after market radio that will go in it? I'd throw the
G/D thing in the trash and use the speakers and amp that came with it if
possible if I could get a Sony, kenwood, or pioneer that would fit in the
console where this piece of cheap poorly designed piece of crap now
resides..
