New Hyundai community if you're interested
Hi there. I just thought I'd mention a new place online to discuss
Hyundais.. You can find the site at www.hyundaikiaforums.com - It's a
project that I'm hoping will help Hyundai and Kia get more popular. It
seems that no matter how great these cars and trucks get, they're
still "just a Hyundai".. That needs to change and I'm guessing the
more sites out there to advocate these companies, the better...
Care to help out? If so, come see the site..
Thank you!

While it's great that you've decided to do something for the
community, blind spamming of forum users is inappropriate. You've
probably driven away more potential users than you've drawn in.

You really think so??? IMO the posting was on-topic, wasn't cross-posted
(at least not visibly looking at the To: line) wasn't trying to sell
something, and was to the point.
I don't want to start a netiquette fire, but if you are open to recieve as
well as give constructive criticism..... I'd like to see bottom rather than
top-posting. ;-)

I have no prob with the posting either.. I could see if he was selling
something, but he's not...in fact, he's probably *losing* money by
running the board...he has to pay for the domain and maintain it and
the advertising usually doesn't cover costs..

Thanks Sal, I'll take a look. I was just wondering where there might be
more Hyundai boards. Since I've had my recent turnaround about Hyundai
(previously, poor perception), I've been a one woman campaign. Have
already convinced one woman to buy an Accent. All the while, I have the
same nagging concern doing that as with what you are trying to
accomplish - if we're successful in changing perception, that the prices
will increase comparable to Honda/Toyota/Nissan.

I wasn't refering to his actions here. This guy has been traveling to
various Hyundai forums and spamming the users with messages about his
new site. The post here was about the only intelligent thing he's
done as far as generating traffic is concerned...

Ahh...then that explains why you used the word forum. I wondered why
someone would refer to usenet as a forum. If he's sending multiple messages
to the same forum then I might consider that to be spam, but if he's posting
a single message on all the Hyundai-related forums then I'd suggest he was
just marketing his site to those people that would be interested.
If any of those forums are indexed by Google, then posting a link to his
site -- even as part of a sig -- will likely prove to be a very intelligent
move.
Looking at his forum he has 68 registered users, and they all seem to have
registered since Jan 24. Looks like he's off to a good start.
Best of luck Sal.
