Re: keyless remote programming??
Neither of the links provided by Joe apply to your car. Your remotes must
be programmed with the Hyundai scan tool. You'll probably have to go in
to the dealer and have them do it for you. The system will accept a
maximum of 2 remotes.
If you try to program with the 2002 Sonata information in the link, you
will take your dash apart to find there is no switch on the keyless entry
module.

I have a UK 2001 Sonata and according top that document it has the
Clifford system.
My problem is that it refers to a 'valet' switch but there is no
switch to be found on my car.
Any suggestions?

Re: keyless remote programming??
I have a question for you... how did you find out what keyless system
(version/model) your Sonata has?
I bought a 2000 Sonata GLS (V6) used, but I have not idea how to check
what specific system it is.
Thanks
Rich

In that document above it list the type of security system according
to the year of your car.

Thanks, though the document says that my 2000 Sonata has the Clifford
system.
There are some diagrams of a toggle switch and an LED in the doc. I
can easily construct that myself but it fails to show where that
connects to. Is there a socket someplace on the car or do I connect
directly to the electronic lock module?
Which brings me to query where in the vehicle is the security locking
electronics to be found?
Thanks for the advice

Well actually you don't need a fancy tool like that
All it does is grounding the "code save" pin in the "multi-check" connector
under the dash. There's a ground pin right next to it, so it's very easy to
program the remote w/o the scanner once the lower "crash" pad is off.

It should have the toggle switch. Without it, you can't
test/program/troubleshoot the alarm system.
