Sorry not it all, fuel consumption on my Getz its about 1 liter to 10 km,
thats if im very
lucky. 1 to 8.5 its more realistic. There a a lot of other thinks why im
never would by a
Getz again. I own a new Getz for 6 monts now and it is a complete disaster.
If you are Dutch just see this test site from Belgium:
http://www.auto-on-net.com/ld/ADB.ns...3A4?Open&lg=NL
If you look for a car just to drive in the city and you have your own fuel
well by a Getz.
BTW you also would reserve about 30 minutes of your time just to fil up the
%$#%^% fuel tank.
In al other cases, get your self a car.

Which motor on your Getz? And how many Km have you done till now? Best
motor accordingly to Getz weight is 1.3 , but about fuel you should be able
to have an average of 12,5 Km/l, not so good like other cars but , for
instance, a Fiat Punto weights about 150 Kg less, and so this affects
mileage.
A better mileage is probably with Honda Jazz, but at the expenses of a more
expensive car and of less performance.

Hi,
I own a 1.3 Getz Sun and Fun (Stil try to find the Fun part)
According to the brochure from Hyundai the average is 1 to 16.4
That was the reason I chose this car.
My old car from 1889 Daihatsu Charade used about 1 to 17.5 city only
on the freeway 1 to 21.
I drive cars and motorbikes for over 30 years now. Al kind of cars and bikes
and
with al of them I was able to use far less fuel then the average mentioned
by the manufacturer.
Only the Getz used a lot more and you get nothing in return for this high
fuel consumption.
My Daihatsu had 50 HP according to, again the brochure from Hyundai the Getz
has 82 HP.
I presume thats another lie just like the 1 to 16.4 fuel average.
Because if I compare the Daihatsu with the Getz it's like the Daihatsu has a
Ferrari engine inside.
That's with normal driving, using the Airco on the Getz and thinks get worse
(if this is possible)
After pushing the airco button I get passed by Bicycles, Turtles, snakes and
so on.

Something must be very wrong with your Getz, my Elantra (which is bigger and
heavier) with 1.6 l engine takes about 1 liter for 9-10 km in city driving,
and 1 l for 14 km on the open road.

The Getz has been checked by the dealer twice and found everything o.k.
But if you search the internet you find a lot of test sites coming to the
same conclusion
1 to 10 average fuel consumption.
So there is nothing wrong with "my" Getz but there its definitely something
wrong with
the Getz in general.

The brother of my wife has a Getz, same engine, and average is 12,5 km/l
with 70% city.
Something is wrong in your car, I suggest to make it check by a good
techinician
About Charade, if it is this one:
http://www.histomobile.com/1/Daihats...arade.htm?lan=
I guess that comparing mileage of a car with weight 680 Kg with another with
more than 1000 Kg makes of the 1st one the winner anyway.

There must be something wrong with a lot of Getz.
My dealer is a official Hyundai dealer. Different tests of car magazines
comes
to the very same conclusion Average 1 to10.
I know that I can't compare a car from 750 kg with one of almost 1000 kg,
but this is not why I'm disappointed, I compare the 1 to 16.4 average in
the Official Hyundai Getz brochure tot the 1 to 10 in practice.
Even 1 to 12.5 is far to much when you expect 1 to 16.4
I feel mislet by Hyundai and the Getz its definitely my first and last
Hyundai.

Actually, I did and found only one complaining explicite about fuel
consumption, on car survey, written by someone with wery similar profile
(Daihatsu as a prevoius car, same way of measuring consumption in km/liter,
same consumption of 8.9 km/liter, only this one is 1.6l automatic). For 1.6l
automatic, allthough bit high, this is not so outrageous as for 1.3l manual.

Re: Follow up to : Hyundai Getz Holland/Europe petrol consumption
Thanks for all the posting.
It's weird on how Getz has been touted as car with economic fuel
consumption. Yet in real world from real user, it consume fuel more
then a car with 1.3 engine should.
May it be that they are using different engine for different regions.
Or hyundai method of measuring fuel consumption is very controlled (no
air cond, driver who weight 20kgs, no wind at all .. etc) that it
fails in real world.
Since this is alt.autos.Hyundai newsgroup I'm sure that some
representative of hyundai will be reading. Some one, anyone from
Hyundai, please give us a straight answer. I am sure that a lot o
people will be reading this post as time goes by. They might even base
their buying decission base on this very thread.
More follow up from others like Singaporean or Malaysian will be
greately appreciated.
Thanks to all,
Haris

Re: Follow up to : Hyundai Getz Holland/Europe petrol consumption
I own Getz GL (1.5l engine, automatic transmission). Done about 3500km
in recent 3 months. Fuel consumption is pathetic. I get 9-10km per
litre. Fuel consumption label stated 12.8km/l. I do a good mix of
city/highway driving (Australia).
Cheers

Thanks to everyone for the feedback.
It's not cool for Hyundai not to clarify this matter. I have email
them to post and response in this news group. I see that they have
done nothing about it. They haven't even reply my email personally.
Anyway, I gather that (they think) their Marketing is so good they
have no need to respond to public inquiries and opinion! Duh!
Thanks again for all your feed back.
