Elantra 2001 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT - Idling ?
I started my car engine and kept on idling for about 15-20 minutes. Cleaned
the snow outside.
Got back to my car inside, switched off the engine and keyed on again.
CHECK ENGINE light started appearing.
Could it be because of excessive idling ??
Help greatly appreciated.Thanks

Re: Elantra 2001 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT - Idling ?
I took my car to autozone and did a diagonostic read.
The code came out to be P1502 and said the following:
MANUF CONTROL VEH SPEED
IDLE SPD CONTROL AUX INPUTS
The technician said nothing serious and asked me if I want the code to be
cleared. I said Yes and planning to see if it comes back again.
Any advice?

Re: Elantra 2001 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT - Idling ?
P1502 indicates a circuit issue for the vehicle speed sensor located on the
right front wheel. It's possible something may have gotten in there and
torn the wiring or an animal looking for warmth ate the wiring, or some
other issue witht the circuit. Generic scan tools won't be able to tell
you what the P1502 means because anything of the form P1xxx is a
manufacturer specific code.
You should take your car to have it checked. If it's still within the
warranty period, take it to the dealer.
