Hey;
There could be up to 500 reasons the CEL came on;
would you have more info?
Did you just fill up the fuel tank?
Is it idleing O.K.?
Does it start O.K when cold or hot?
Ect....ect....ect.....

Mine comes on and never makes any sense. I've checked and the engine
is still there, but the darn light doesn't go out...........
Usually this is a problem with your emissions control system. Have
somebody run the codes for you to tell you the problem.

I went to a garage to have the codes checked and the mechanic was
unable to tell me what the codes meant. He said I would have to go to
Hyundai to tell me... I cehecked dmy gas cap, it's ok. He re-set the
sensor to see if the check-engine light would come right back on... it
did. I'll go to Hyundai to see what is going on. Thanks for oyur
response.

Hi... all has been checked. It idles fine and starts immediately
whether cold or hot. It happened about a week after a fuel fill-up.
It has about 60,000 miles on it and I have never had a single
problem. It is maintained meticulkously. Thanks for oyur resonse.

Did he give you the diagnostic codes? If so, you need to post them
here. Without the code that is triggering the diagnostic lamp anything
anyone says might be the problem is nothing but speculation. It
literally could be one of a million different things triggering the
light.
