CD stacker unit plus radio problem
Hi,
We bought an S coupe with a Sony CD stacker unit in the back. It has a
Phillips radio in the console and a separate little LCD control unit for the
stacker.
When CD ON is selected at this unit, the radio mutes down OK, and the
stacker unit operates, but no sound is heard.
We have tried MP3 and audio CDs both. I assume that the radio has an input
from the stacker at the rear which when powered up should take control.
Any suggestions where to look for this fault?
Thanks
Geoff

Re: CD stacker unit plus radio problem
This sounds like all aftermarket stuff. The cd stacker may output directly
to the antenna and you have to tune the radio to a particular frequency to
receive it. Are any of the seller's presets still there. If so, it's
probably one of them.

This sounds like an aftermarket install to me. If the radio/changer
were from the same company, I might think otherwise; however, the
presence of a secondary changer controller is very telling.
This almost certainly has an FM modulator in line with the antenna
input. You'll have to find what FM frequency to tune to hear the CD
output.

Re: CD stacker unit plus radio problem
Grateful thanks to Hyundaitech and Nobodyman, who had it dead right, and do
we feel foolish for missing this. No experience with these units before.
