3 door 2000 Hyundai Accent - Australia
Hi all,
I've installed a new cd player into my Accent, cutting the corners out
of the original oval shape slot in the centre facia.
I want to get new speakers for the front and rear, and I dont know
what size I need. Also, I cant seem to open the rear speaker covers,
the screws just keep turning and turning, and i cant prise open the
cover. Are they just meant to unscrew the 2 screws and lift the cover
up easily? Or is there a trick to it?
I dont want to force it, and end up breaking it
Thanks all

i have a 2001 accent and have done what you did to change the stock
cassette to a mp3 player. just sawed the corners back. i did buy a
cheap blue light frame to stick over the facia afterwards so it at
least looks half decent.
i replaced the standard speakers with 130mm ones from Jaycar that had
a separate tweeter on them, they bolt straight into both the front and
rear. the rear covers are as tight as buggery but after undoing the 2
screws it's just a matter of levering them off. Hyundai must have a
patent on having the tightest clips ever found, it must guarantee
never having anything ever rattle or fall off.
i found doing the front speakers to be far more fiddly, but my body is
getting stiffer and my eyesight is getting worse as i drift into old
age.
