2002 XG350 Radio Replacement
Anyone on the board know of of an aftermarket radio with cd and tape
playing capabilities that will replace the crap one that came in the car.
It has no AM capabilities to speak of. five miles away from a 5,000 watt
station and it is hash. FM is A little better but still not a pimple on
the **** of a standard GM radio. It has a good amp and speakers but that is
about it for the whole system. I'd like to use an aftermarket unit that
will fit the hole after I throw the piece of S**T unit that resides there
now. The Car is great and I have had no problems with it at all except a
stiff neck from taking off like a bat out of hell at stop lights. After
listening to the radio in it however, it is like taking a dump in an
outdoor privy after you have been used to indoor plumbing. I make CDs on
the computer that I have at the house so MP3 capabilities are not that
important to me.
Thanks

Sanyo FXCD-550. Crutchfield has it for $270 and it will fit the XG350
without any modifications.

Thanks Eric. One other question though, what is Crutchfiel? We don't have
one here. Is it an online ordering facility or a National Chain. We have
Best Buy, Circuit City, Sears, Target , and a number of Auto stores that
carry some stereos like Pep boys and Auto Zone. I do believe that Sanyo is
carried by best buy. I know they have a number of Sanyo TVs and home stereo
Equipment. The Crutchfield deal sounds good if I could get you to post the
address for me, would be most appreciative. A lot of times best buy and
circuit city will install free purchased stereos over $150.00 in price.
Same day installation guaranteed.

Sorry, I should have said. Crutchfield is a national on-line and catalog
chain. They have been around long before the Internet and some of the
other chains you mentioned.
You can find them at http://www.crutchfield.com They will send you
everything you need to install the radio, including wiring harness
adapters, speaker adapters and so on. Even mounting brackets if you need
one for your car.
I believe in recent years that they have "hooked up" with some local radio
installers that can do the work for you if you so desire.
Let me know how you make out.
