1993 Sonata Anti Theft Radio
The car sat with dead battery and now the anti-theft radio wants me to
input "code" before it will work.
The code is in so safe a place I have no idea where it is.
Is there a way to get it reset or am I better off just to buy a new
radio (like one that plays MP3s)?

Your Hyundai dealer can decode this for you. If you would like, you can
e-mail or post here the information I need and I will e-mail you your
radio code.
If you turn on the radio while holding down a specific number button (I
believe it's the "4"), you will see a series of dashes. The possible
layout is something like this:
- - -
1 - - -
- - -
I'll have to wait until this posts to see if it came out right. Based on
the positions of the dashes and whether you have the number 1, I can give
you your radio code.

Well, it's almost right. The dashes should be in a 3x3 square just to the
right of the one. I hope you get the idea. If you want, you can just
tell me which ones have dashes in them. Starting from the top left, work
your way across the top row from 1 to 3, the second row from 4 to 6, and
the third row from 7 to 9. Then just let me know which numbered positions
have a dash and whether you have a 1 also.

Thank you and yes #4 was the button to press.
I got
X - -
- X X
- X -
X's being 'nothing'
Hope that can be worked with
