03 Tib Radio--AM Reception
The AM reception on my 03 Tib is practically zilch. OK, I do live in
the boonies, but even when I'm in a city area, the reception is flaky,
especially in hilly terrain.
Is that a common problem, or should I have it checked? The reason that
I ask is that I live some 60 miles from the dealer, and I usually only
take it in for oil filter and stuff that truly affects the warranty.
TIA,
Lakeside

http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search , this newsgroup,
keyword "radio" will give you a bunch of results with people complaining
about the AM radios on Santa Fe and Elantra models. It's fairly common.
The 2003 Tiburons have a built-in CD player, a good CD-RW drive is less
than $100, blank CD-Rs are $1 each for quality media, Napster is dead
but Overnet/Kazaa Lite/OpenNap are still alive, and iTunes is also
around. Who needs the radio?

Pardon my laziness: I know I should have Googled the group, but just
had a blonde moment (I'm married to one, so I DO have an excuse!).

Yup, and I even looked into Sirius and XM. They don't carry the kind of
stuff I like. Sirius music offerings are good (get them on Dishnet) but
I do like some talk radio. The hosts carried on either/both just don't
do anything for me.

Further....
Guess I should have made that a 2-part question, with the second being:
Anyone have any success getting them repaired or otherwise made to work?
Did indeed do the Google thingy on this group; found LOTS of posts and
read most of them, but not one where anyone said a radio had been
repaired to their satisfaction.
Now, where did I put that lil ole Walkman?
