Well, with the exception of Volvos and Fords, you do seem to have good taste
in cars. Maybe the extra 50 IQ points is not needed. :-)
I do like tricked out Ford Mustangs and it seems there are some nice
Volvo sports cars, but in general I think Ford is short for
"found on the road dead" and/or "fixed or repaired daily". Volvos still
tend to remind me of soccer mommies who have "Baby On Board" signs
on their cars and who drive annoyingly slowly.

Getting back to the subject, I think an Abrams M1A2 Main Battle Tank is
just the perfect thing for rush hour traffic. It is fairly fast and
can clear a nice path through a traffic jam! Plus, it allows one
to easily obtain free fuel since most gas station attendents will
run away screaming when they see you drive up...

They are not exactly common, but heck, I still see 1979 model
year Mazda RX-7s, it was not until I got this Jeep Eagle Talon TSi AWD that
I enjoyed a car more than my old 1984 Mazda GSL-SE. That car could get
skittish on wet, snowy, or icy pavement, but the Talon will go where
most SUV drivers won't venture. Main problem with most SUVs, vans, and
pickup trucks is that they have a high center of gravity which makes them
easy to roll over if you take a hard turn at high speed.

Hurricane Ivan just totalled my Eagle Vision -- I loved that car! And
kind of regretted letting the insurance company total it -- it had ALOT
of life left in the engine! Front end problems though. My sister had
an Eagle Talon -- she loved it, too!

Just replaced my Eagle Vision with a Ford Probe -- I REALLY love this
car -- but it doesn't have the comfort <two kids -- one in carseat> as
my Vision did. I personally like the feel and control I have in the
Probe -- but I think if the front end wasn't squirrelly in my Eagle the
wide-track wheel base was comfortable -- it took a long time for me to
get used to, though. I prefer a tighter wheelbase.

Bummer on the loss of your Eagle Vision. I have my heart set on getting
a Lancer Evo, then tricking it out. Problem is I'm having trouble
finding the kind of hi-paying computer work I used to get. The market
is slow and much of it has gone to places like India. Since I prefer
to program down to the bare metal (a skill most companies do not favor,
as the low-paid programmers they hire need to use 4GLs just to get
anything done) or design and administer really fast networks -- things
that companies are starting to invest in again, but I figure it will
be another few months before most firms are going to start buying lots
of serious computer gear. I'd really like to land a position working
for a company that makes sports cars, computers, firearms, or
audio/video gear. I understand enough about those products to write
the kind of fast software that is becoming the norm on the heavily
automated assembly lines used to make them.

But I digress... :-)

Downside might be the ability to find a drive through window or drive
through "car" wash that it would fit into well.

an upside though is that I bet that the Saudi's & the rest of the "oil
patch kids" would help finance folks in the US who want to buy one as
commuter vehicles ;-)
