Window rear view mirror fell off
The right side rear view mirror on my Accord 2000 just fell and broke.
I saw the back of it and it looks like it just snaps into place. Am
I good to order a new one off the internet and snap it in? Or does
the install require more than that and I should visit a shop?
Please note that I am just talking about the glass and not the whole
assembly.
Thanks in advance!

Usually you can just pop a new glass into place. However sometimes if
a small piece of the actuator snapped off too you are better off to replace
the entire assy. replacing the actuator is a pain in the ***. Drive in to a
dealer parts dept and have a counterperson look at it to ensure that the
actuator is intact. If so the glass does just pop in, good luck.

Spoke to a Honda dealership and they wanted to schedule an appointment
and (of course) charge me for the time. I said no thanks. I guess I
would go to pick it up (they are going to have one in stock on
Tuesday) and then try to see if someone can take a look at the
assembly.
Many thanks.

Re: Window rear view mirror fell off
For the archives, I fixed it yesterday and the new mirror just snapped
into place. So there was nothing wrong with the mirror assembly. The
mirrors *do* fall off without any reason I guess...
Now I have to find the way to replace a cracked hub cap myself this
weekend (bought a new one already).
