Whistling Noise when accelerating
I just purchased a 2004 Accord EX V-6. Whenever I accelerate a slight whisling noise can be heard coming from the engine. Has anyone experienced this? Also after my initial start up there is a slight thump in the front end. Any thoughts? I'm about to make a service appointment.

Re: Whistling Noise when accelerating
I have the same car in a "Desert Mist" but don't hear any whistling or
thumps. Having trouble figuring out the radio and heater, tho. Let us know
how your service appointment goes. Ken

Re: Whistling Noise when accelerating
I'm not too sure about the thump but I have a 2003 Accord 4-cyl and I
noticed the same whistling sounds. I don't mind it though. In fact, one my
friends comment on how he loved the sound my engine made. He said the
whistling made it sound like it had a turbo. I wish.
As far as I know, it's a normal sound. Could it be the timing chain? When
they redesigned the Accord they went from a belt to a chain. Chain's last
longer but are known to be louder. Maybe that's what causing that whistling
sound. Just a guess but you never know.

EGR valves can often cause whistling noises.
