Transmission stumbling at 40mph
I have a 00 Odyssey. 49K. Transmission replaced a couple of weeks ago.
Seems ok. But I have noticed it shifts harder from 1st to 2nd than any
other. And if I hang my speed at around 40mph, it seems that the
transmission is in/out, in/out, kinda of stumbling in and out.
Any input?

Re: Transmission stumbling at 40mph
I'm not an expert on the Odyssey but maybe it is your torque converter
locking and unlocking that is giving you that feeling around 40. If you see
a change of say 250 RPM or so (less RPM difference than a gear change) with
each "in" and "out" then that's probably what that is. Weather or not that
is a problem on a 2000 Odyssey, I don't know. It may just be a speed where
the normal operation becomes noticeable.

Re: Transmission stumbling at 40mph
best suggestion, take it back and describe the problem and take the mechanic
out for a spin. Odds are, its just a simple adjustment.
