Re: Trans fluid change
Nope, nothing to do but drain and replace fluid. Only use Honda ATF-Z1 trans
fluid. You should drain and refill approximately 2.5 quarts. Anything else
won't be the same or good for your trans.

No customer-servicable filter. I've gotten 4 litres (4.2 US quarts) our
of my CRV when I changed the tranny fluid, but I let it drain a long
time, point the vehicle a bit down-hill and to the right, and after it's
empty, I run it thru the gears for ten seconds, so a bunch more is
pumped out. Then I waited a while longer.

Re: Trans fluid change
Merely draining and replacing as you suggest actually replaces slighly
over half of the total transmission fluid. Therefore your "new" fluid is
immediately contaminated by almost 50%. Check with your service shop, as
many of them now offer a process (slightly more expensive) which
accomplishes a 100% complete flushing, resulting in total fluid
replacement.
I would agree with the recommendation to use only Honda transmission
fluid.

Re: Trans fluid change
No user-serviceable filter on the '02; they added that feature beginning in
'03 for the L4 Accord. V6 Accord has had a filter since going to 5-speed- I
think in 2003 as well. Remember to clean the magnet on the drain plug.
