Hi there,

Am running a '00 Accord 2.0i ES Coupe (UK spec) with a F20B5 engine.

In the morning, the throttle cable gets sticky. I have to depress the
pedal fully with some force to 'liberate it.' After that, it's ok for
the whole day, until the next morning.

Am not sure where to look, except lubricating the throttle cable (which
I've never done on a car.)

Any ideas and/or advice will be greatly appreciated.

That is where to start. I use a silicone based spray oil to hit all of the
accessible sections of the throttle linkage, under the hood. Also, I hit the
linkage at the pedal end, under the dash.

Throttle body is gummed up. Pull air tube off and clean. Has nothing at all
to do with the throttle cable.

Also check PCV system for blockage. A plugged PCV valve will cause oil to
be pumped into the intake, helping to sludge-up the throttle body.

Don't start messing with the throttle cable until you've proven that the
throttle body is cleaned of gum. Your 'in the morning' description
indicates it is. Lubing a throttle cable can be dangerous if you should
be tempted to use the wrong stuff, and it sticks during cold weather.....
