Simple question re: 98 Civic wiring
Hello,
I recently changed the factory radio with an aftermarket receiver. All
good and dandy, but I just noticed that the ceiling light doesn't work
anymore in the middle ("door") position. The car doesn't have keyless
entry.
I thought that the switch is broken, but after checking the wiring
diagrams I noticed that the door switches used to go through the green
connector ("keyless entry") into the factory radio as the light
green/red wire. The ceiling fixture goes into the same connector as the
light green/black wire.
Since the new receiver does not have these two wires (no green
connector), is it OK to simply short these two wires at the green
connector?
Anyway, what is the reason for which the ceiling light did go through
the factory radio in the keyless entry connector?
Thank you,
Serban
