Replacing front struts and rear shocks on '99 Accord LX
’99 Accord LX 4 dr 5 spd with 157k miles, driven in Nashville, where
roads are not too bad, and I try to avoid manhole covers and big
bumps. Original struts and shocks and I would like to replace them if
it is affordable. I mentioned in earlier post about possible need for
ball joint replacement.
Any recommendations? Is there a decent aftermarket strut that works
well and does not cost a fortune? If I buy them, what is a reasonable
amount for someone to charge to install them? What about Honda parts?
I can get them for 20-25% off list.
Thanks in advance,
Wade

kyb gr2's are a good shock - oem quality, last well, comfy,
significantly cheaper. but check whether you actually need to replace
the oem's - they usually last pretty well - much better than detroit
garbage.
just a note though - the front suspension on the accord is wishbone, not
macpherson, so those are simply shocks, not struts.
