Pilot locks by itself
Our Pilot locks itself after sitting in the drive for a while. I know about
the thing where if you unlock with the remote, it will relock again. Not
that.
When we pull into the drive and get out without locking, and then come out
in several hours to go out again, it's locked. Is there something we don't
know? Or is there a problem with the car?
Love our Pilot!

Re: Pilot locks by itself
The Pilot is fairly new, so I've never seen it with the problem, but you
could have a bad driver's door lock actuator. If it "senses" that the door
has been locked it will signal all of the other door to lock too. (assuming
that Honda hasn't changed that way it works).

Are you sure someone with a control in their pocket isn't bumping a button.
I have that problem as my office is over the driveway and once in a while I
find a power sliding door open...

Don't think so. Our remotes take a little work to operate, and we're aware
of that and being careful. It goes in for it's first 7500 mile service
soon, so I'll ask the dealer to look at it.

I have an after market remote starter, that locks/unlocks the doors as well.
It has a setting that allows it to lock the doors of the vehicle after a
certain amount of time elapses. You may have the same option. I would
suggest getting out of the vehicle, and waiting to see how long it takes for
the doors to lock, to verify that it is doing it on it's own.

I agree with the person that suggested that you test it by leaving the
doors unlocked and measuring how much time it takes the doors to lock.
Repost after you have conducted this test. In a way--unless you have left
the keys in the car--this seems like a great feature since all of us on
occassion have forgot to lock the vehicle. Also do a separate test with
the windows down and the keys in the lock mounted on steering wheel--it's
possible the doors won't lock automatically if the keys are in the
steering wheel lock.
