Performance Increase w/ Auto. Transmission
Just bought a '00 Civic DX to use as daily driver. It came with the "Value Package" which includes the automatic transmission.
It runs great, but needs a little more in the ooomph department, particularly in accelerating.
Any suggestions on engine tweaks that will help? I live in Virginia near Washington DC, and you typically need to drive at 75-80mph on the Interstates just to keep up.
Thanks.

I have a 96 ex auto, the only thing that will make it faster in the way you
want is a good dose or torque. Ive tried the whole intake/header/exhaust
routine and its a joke, all noise and very little gains. If you want
serious power get a supercharger or turbo kit. Again you are talking about
a lot of $$$. But theres only so much you can do with 1.6 liters.

Re: Performance Increase w/ Auto. Transmission
if you really wanna do it, i believe if you put a transmission frrom an EX
in they are geared differently. At least they are for the 5spd
also, go to www.honda-tech.com and search for sohc upgrades
