Are Odyssey and CRV so similar
I'm just wondering if they are so similar that Chilton issued single
book for two models, "Honda CR-V Odyssey 1995-00 Repair Manual". And I'd
like to know if the Odyssey is described enought in the book to buy it
if I've got an Odyssey.
Thanks for any thoughts
Michael.

No, they're COMPLETELY different.
Odyssey and Pilot are similar, and were spawned from the same platform
that gave us the previous generation Accord. CRV is an entirely
different platform. CRV and Element are simlar--and are built on the
Civic platform.

Michael,
I bought that manual from the dealer and found it to be quite adequate.
I've used it for both CRV and Odyssey. If you are not mechanically
inclined, it won't make a difference how good the manual is. I like the
'exceptions' that are given, like how to get around using some
specialized tools..
The original Odyssey isn't supported terribly well because it has a few
issues, like door panels that fall apart, ABS sensors that die. But
that's what the GROUP is here for.
