new owner: 97 Accord with a couple of questions
just got my first Honda - have always driven Toys. it's a 97 Accord SE and
seems superb. couple of questions:
1. do the numbers/letters on the gear shift light up or do we just rely on
the indicators on the instrument panel?
2. if the answer to #1 is "yes" then how do I change the light bulb in the
gear shift housing?
3. got power locks - but the front passenger door is erratic. makes a
whining electric motor sound, but sometimes doens't go down. sometimes it
does. am I not holding my mouth right when I hit the remote or is it
something else? ;-)

Re: new owner: 97 Accord with a couple of questions
#1: There is no light by the gear shift, only in the instrument panel.

Re: new owner: 97 Accord with a couple of questions
Woops!
#2: See #1 in previous post.
#3: This model is known for frequent failure of the door lock actuator in
the driver door. It has nothing to do with the remote.

Re: new owner: 97 Accord with a couple of questions
#2. Yes it lights. My 1996 Accord has a light that flickers. If you knock the
shifter just right mine lights up. Funny thing, recently my 2000 Accord started
doing it too. My point is the light bulb could be fine. There could be a loose
connection.
#3. My 1996 Accord had a lock actuator fail in 1998. I had the dealer replace
it and there has not been any other failures.
