Richard,
Seriously, I find that I sometimes get fuel on my shoes because so many
people splash gas on the snow / ground at the gas station. When I drive
away, the snow melts off my boots and really smells up the car for a
while. Not too much I can do to avoid it, except I stomp my boots clean
before getting in, if I think of it.
Maybe that's all that happened with your new car?

Did you overfill -- keep on adding fuel after the pump clicked off.

Use a disposable glove. Close all windows and doors. Deisels are notorious.
Deisel stations provide gloves for this purpose. Get inside quick observing
wind direction. Leave gloves outside. Watch where you're going.

Why would you think he was fueling his 2003 Accord with diesel fuel? And, by
the way, stations that provide diesel fuel, do not provide gloves.

I mean for example, a diesel fuel is another form of energy source that when
it gets on your hands it's hard to get out. At least some of the stations in
my town has gloves. Both lines were phrased incorrectly, - was rushing.
