mini me swap
not sure if anyone here has tryed this, but im about to do a mini me swap on
my d15 block (mini me is putting a d16z6 head on the d15 block, thus adding
vtec) Anyways, basically getting all of the parts together now, basically
just waiting on the ecu from ebay. From every write up ive seen, i can't
tell if i need to get a vtec controller or not. Seems like its just
something everyone adds to control the vtec engagement point, and its not
nessecery at all, just a nice option to have. Can anyone confirm this? Or is
it needed, as in the stock ecu (vtec ecu) will not control the actual
engagement

Re: mini me swap
I have some interesting documents on VTEC swap and mini me info (~200 KB
zipped). Unfortunately, when I sent the reply with attachments the newsgroup
blocked it. Unless you give a valid email or other means I am unable to
share the info.

Re: mini me swap
for the mini-me to work the best you need the VTEC ecu from an EX or SI with the
manual or auto (whichever you have)
the only time you would need an aftermarket controller is if you are using the
stock (non-vtec) ECU. This will work fine, but the fuel maps aren't optimized
for the VTEC so you would be better off with the ECU.
